RIBA Publishing has produced this beautiful book of 16 detachable postcards celebrating the breadth and depth of
the work of Le Corbusier, arguably the 20th century's most influential architect. Colour images of his distinctive
art works and significant furniture designs are interspersed with striking black and white photos of his most famous
building designs such as the Maison Dom-Ino, the Notre Dame du Haut chapel and the Unité d'habitation. Revered across
the world as the leader of the Modern movement, Le Corbusier's work continues to be highly relevant in the 21st century,
and this selection of postcards will be irresistible to anyone interested in architecture and design.
The international exhibition of the same name, Le Corbusier – The Art of Architecture, by the Vitra Design Museum in
co-operation with the RIBA Trust and the Netherlands Institute, will be at The Crypt of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
from 02.10.08 – 18.01.09 and at the Barbican Art Gallery from 19.02.09 – 24.05.09. The postcards included in this book
have been selected by RIBA Publishing in collaboration with the RIBA Trust and the Barbican to coincide with the exhibition.
