Approved Document F: Ventilation has moved to a performance based approach, and there is new guidance for the ventilation of basements. For dwellings, Part F now sets out straightforward guidance and diagrams for four ventilation system options:

• background ventilation and intermittent extractor fans;
• passive stack ventilation;
• continuous mechanical extract; and
• continuous mechanical supply and extract with heat recovery.
